Title "Beyond the NAS Report"

Date: October 14-16, 2011
Location: Syracuse University, Syracuse NY

Synopsis of Conference:

The 2009 National Academy of Sciences report, "Strengthening Forensic Science in the United States: A Path Forward," commissioned by Congress, makes striking observations and recommendations for many forensics fields, including anthropology. Two years later, this session will examine the effects the report has already had and make predictions for likely future effects. Participants and speakers will evaluate the topics of all prior conferences in the context and discuss what responses from practitioners are more appropriate. The outcome of this session will be to outline the best path forward for the field of forensic anthropology.
